WIKAMA

Publisher: ~17 years in equity research & sales; previously managed a small-cap long/short mandate for a UK hedge fund. MBA Finance (Vlerick), magna cum laude. CFA (2011).

What WIKAMA publishes: Selective, research-driven notes on under-followed listed companies and the industries around them—deep dives, case studies, and valuation frameworks. The readership includes portfolio managers, analysts, family offices, and high-net-worth private investors.

What you’ll receive: Access to the archive, new notes when available, and periodic updates on the coverage universe and thesis developments. Quality above quantity.

Approach

  • Focus: Inefficient niches— mainly micro/small caps with limited coverage and lower liquidity. Preference for simple, proven businesses with decades of profitability.
  • Process: Primary work (filings, footnotes, customer/supplier checks, expert calls, site work where useful) plus an explicit analytical edge: identifying accounting and capital-structure nuances that distort economics or valuation—e.g., non-economic depreciation, EV normalizations (restricted/trapped cash).
  • Horizon: Multi-year, with emphasis on downside protection, unit economics, and capital allocation.
  • Valuation: Buying at low multiples of recurring, demonstrated earnings. Seeking downside protection via asset floors (liquidation value). Favoring strong returns on tangible capital employed, disciplined M&A, and reinvestment at attractive returns.
